DOCS Originals Care Guide

Welcome to the DOCS Originals Care Guide! We know you care about delivering the best healthcare services, and we're here to make sure your scrubs are up for the challenge. Proper care is essential for maintaining the quality, functionality, and longevity of your DOCS Originals scrubs. Here's how to do it right:

Materials Used

Our scrubs are made of 75% recycled nylon and 25% recycled elastane, so they're not just good for you but also for the planet!

General Wash & Care

  1. Cold Wash: Always wash your scrubs in cold water. Cold water not only conserves energy but also helps maintain the color and quality of the fabric.

  2. Like Colors: Ideally all healthcare professionals should be washing their scrubs separate to all other clothes, however we know this doesnt always happen. In this case, it is best to wash your scrubs with like colors to avoid any unwanted color bleeding.

  3. Mild Detergent: Opt for a mild/gentle detergent to maintain the fabric’s integrity.

  4. How to Wash: To ensure no fabric bleeding the first time you wash your scrubs should be separate to all other clothes and add a pinch of salt into the water. To maintain fabric integrity, wash all scrubs inside out with the female external drawstring tucked inside.

Special Features Care

  1. Anti-Bacterial Finish: Our scrubs come with a high-quality anti-bacterial finish, which helps in warding off bacteria and odors. Using bleach or harsh chemicals will deteriorate this finish.

  2. Sweat-Wicking Properties: Our special fabric whisks away moisture WITHOUT holding onto odours. So let your scrubs air dry to maintain these high quality properties.

Drying

  1. Line Dry: Always line dry your scrubs. This not only conserves energy but also helps maintain the fabric’s anti-bacterial and sweat-wicking properties. Do not dry in direct sunlight to preserve the high quality fabric.

  2. Avoid Tumble Drying: Tumble drying can degrade the fabric quality over time and should be avoided.

What Not to Do

  1. No Bleach: Bleaching your scrubs will affect the fabric’s quality, colour and the anti-bacterial finish.

  2. No Ironing: Our fabric is designed to be low maintenance. Skip the iron to maintain the material’s features. Just hang out to dry neatly and on a coat hanger rather than folding in your wardrobe, so there will be no need to iron.

  3. No Dry Cleaning: The chemicals used in dry cleaning can deteriorate the quality of fabric, colour and antibacterial finished.

Additional Tips

  1. Separate Storage: Keep your work scrubs separate from your regular clothes to maintain hygiene. It is best to hang your scrubs on a coat hanger in a cool and dry environment to maintain the quality and so you dont have to iron them.

  2. Regular Check: Make it a habit to regularly check your scrubs for any signs of wear and tear. This way, you can replace them before they become a problem on the job.

Remember, taking proper care of your scrubs means you're also taking care of yourself and the people you serve. Any more questions about scrub care? Feel free to reach out to us.
